ConnectCR

ConnectCR is about revitalizing Cedar Lake and adding a number of amenities there and also building the Alliant Energy LightLine and the landings around it, where the historical/place markers will be located.  That bridge alone will help with the trail system as it provides a way to cross the Cedar River without vehicle traffic nearby.

With the revitalization of Cedar Lake and the building of the pedestrian bridge, the project improves upon the connections to two national coast-to-coast trails--the American Discovery Trail and the Great American Rail-Trail.

The gift from Chris and Suzy is designated to honor the history of our area with a special plaque and location near the newly named Alliant Energy LightLine (formerly known as the ConnectCR bridge or the Smokestack bridge.) We will be working with them on wording on that historical/place marker as we get further along with the project and development at the bridge and landing locations.

These Plaza Concept renderings show the envisioned plazas on both sides of the bridge--which is now called the Alliant Energy LightLine.
